Amsterdam has many seafood restaurants, too numerous to list them all. Below are a selection of recommended seafood restaurants. Each is different and menus vary from local Dutch seafood to international cuisine.

Translated as The Oyster Bar, De Oesterbar is Amsterdam's most famous and probably favourite seafood restaurant. Taking fresh deliveries twice daily, this restaurant's menu consists of Dutch seafood dishes and a few meat dishes. Over 50 years old, the ground floor layout is one of fish tanks and tiles - upstairs you can find more elegant and formal surroundings. A variety of seafood is served - from fish to eel, shrimps to oysters - you can find your favourite here. You may even select your meal from the fishtank if you so desire!

Situated in formal surroundings - marble floors and muraled ceiling, Le PĂȘcheur was opened in 1981 by Rien van Santen. Outside, there is a courtyard - the feeling about the place is one of formality but also peace with beautiful interior and furniture.
Various meals are available, from fish soup to oysters, scallops to mussels. A complete range of dishes is offered, some local Dutch, others international.
The service is renowned, as is the food, all at reasonable prices.

Lucius is a very reasonably priced restaurant offering fish but especially lobster, oysters and other shellfish. The menu offers not only local dutch fare but also seafood imported from France, Norway and Canada. Lucius' also features a number of delicious set meals.

Open since 1967, Sluizer is actually two restaurants in one. Restaurant Sluizer (No. 45) is a traditional brasserie offering a variety of meat dishes whilst Visrestaurant Sluizer offers a number of seafood dishes.
Dishes such as fish soup, catfish and filet of salmon are available as well as many popular daily specials.
The Sluizer restaurants are very popular and usually busy, in part due to the late opening hours, daily until midnight.
