Amsterdam Guide is an independent travel guide built by real people. We are not an official tourism board, and our loyalty is to you, the reader.

Updates

Prices and Opening Hours Change

We check prices, ticket details, opening hours, and transport information at the time we publish or update a page. Still, Amsterdam changes quickly. Museums can adjust ticket rules, restaurants can switch menus or close for private events, and GVB public transport schedules or fares can change without much notice. Before you book, travel across the city, or plan your day around a specific venue, always double-check the latest details directly with the museum, restaurant, attraction, transport provider, or official website.

Independence

How We Make Money (And Stay Independent)

Some links on Amsterdam Guide are partner links. This means that if you book a hotel, tour, museum ticket, or other service through one of those links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This partner-link compensation helps pay for hosting, research, editing, and keeping the guide updated. It does not influence our picks. We choose what to recommend based on usefulness, quality, value, and firsthand judgment. If we think something is overpriced, badly run, too crowded, or not worth your time, we will say so, even if it could have earned us money.

AI Use

Our Use of AI Tools

We sometimes use AI tools to support our drafting process. That may include outlining an article, translating Dutch-language local sources, checking grammar, or making a paragraph clearer. AI does not replace our judgment. Every piece of advice is reviewed, edited, and checked by a human who knows Amsterdam and understands what travelers actually need. We do not publish raw, unedited AI-generated itineraries, reviews, or recommendations. If something appears on this site, it has been shaped and verified by a person.

Fact-checking

How We Verify Our Facts

We cross-check practical information with official and direct sources whenever possible, including venue websites, GVB, local authorities, and the I amsterdam visitor portal. When we can, we visit places in person to see whether the advice still makes sense on the ground: how long queues really feel, whether a neighborhood is easy to navigate, and whether a place is worth your limited time. We do not build our guide by copying other travel blogs. Our goal is to combine reliable sources with local, practical knowledge.

Limits

What We Don't Do

Amsterdam Guide is an informational travel guide, not a booking agency. If you have a problem with a flight, hotel, tour, ticket, refund, or reservation, you need to contact the company you booked with directly. We also do not provide official legal advice about Schengen visas, immigration, Dutch laws, taxes, or residency rules. We may mention third-party services, but we cannot guarantee their safety, quality, pricing, availability, or customer service. Use your own judgment before booking or paying for anything.

Corrections

Spotted a Mistake?

Even with careful checking, things can change overnight. A cafe may close, a ticket price may rise, a tram route may be adjusted, or a venue may change its hours after we last updated a page. If you spot an outdated price, a broken link, a permanently closed place, or a fact that does not look right, please tell us through our contact page. We appreciate corrections and use them to make the guide better for future travelers.
