It emerged last month that Holland is set to ban foreigners from cafes that sell cannabis, to put an end to the 'nuisance and criminality associated with coffee shops and drugs trafficking'.
The government are to enforce strict laws that restrict access to shops that legally sell cannabis, so only Dutch residents will be able to enter.
The new legislation, spearheaded by the country's far-right politicians, means that cafe customers will have to sign up for a one-year membership or 'dope pass'.
Opposition MPs have dubbed the rules 'tourism suicide', and say the move could cost the country millions of pounds in revenue per year.
There are also fears that Dutch residents, who are allowed to possess 5g of marijuana at any one time, could instead sell the legal drug to tourists at inflated prices.
The Dutch health and justice ministries said: ‘We attract other types of tourists apart from drugs tourists. This law will put an end to the nuisance and criminality associated with coffee shops and drugs trafficking.'
