Theatres in Amsterdam
Boom Chicago
Boom chicago is one of the most popular theatres in town. Strictly speaking, it is a stand-up comedy venue, but nevertheless one not to be missed.
Started over ten years ago by a bunch of touring American friends, the cast, waitresses and food have remained distinctly American. However, the acts themselves have a local Dutch flavor to them, so the show attracts tourists and locals alike, even though the show is in English.
The venue seats over 300, and you can have dinner before the show. It is recommended that you book beforehand to guarantee a seat. There is no strict dress code either. Expect to pay a little over 15 Euros for a ticket.

Dogtroep
Dogtroep has existed since its formation in 1975.
Its unique feature is that it used very little in the way or words, be they written or spoken, and instead concentrates on communicating via pictures and music.
The removal of this large communication barrier of language, means that this company has great international appeal, and indeed Dogtroep have toured all over the world.
