Opera in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is not known for its opera. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place in which to stop for an opera weekend.

De Nederlandse Opera, or The Netherlands Opera, is the national opera company of The Netherlands.

In 1986, the Opera and National Ballet joined at their new home at The Muziektheater, where most performances take place.

There are about 11 productions a year, and performances nearly every night.
