Amsterdam webcams are a great way to keep in touch with Amsterdam when you are feeling "homesick". There are a few that I regularly check out - just remember to wave when you walk by an Amsterdam webcam - you never know who might be watching!

DonnieCam

This is a favourite of many and shows a picturesque view over one of Amsterdam's famous grachts or canals. You can always count on seeing someone passing through this thoroughfare and usually many bikes, as one would expect in this great city. One thing that I have noticed however, is that I can never seem to get a great frame rate - sometimes its as high as two per second but usually closer to one frame per second. Also there is no sound. Nevertheless, you won't find any other Amsterdam webcams that show quite so much of Amsterdam, be it the people, the canals, the houseboats, the houses or the bridges.

Coffeeshop Siberie - Live webcam

This Amsterdam webcam shows what this city is famous for the world over, its legal marijuana coffeeshops. Here, you can see customers pass through every day and evening - in fact, the place resembles a bar, except with no alcohol and related violence.

TERENA Webcam Koningsplein, Amsterdam

This is my favourite cam because the video and sound quality are so high. You get something that even looks good when maximised to full screen and can see locals walking by at a full 25 frames per second. There's also a small road and trams that you can see and hear (the bells). Definitely my favourite cam.
